If you’re a fan of smoothies, then you know how refreshing and healthy they can be. But have you tried a cloud smoothie before? This striking and delicious recipe is a must-try!. In this post, we’ll guide you through the process of making a cloud smoothie using some simple ingredients:
What you’ll need:
- 2 frozen bananas
- 150ml of almond milk
- ¼ of an avocado
- a drizzle of honey
- 1/3 teaspoon of blue spirulina powder
- 1 tablespoon of yogurt
- Blender
- Highball Glass
- Glass Straws
Step 1: Gather your ingredients
Start by peeling and slicing two bananas and freezing them for at least two hours. You’ll also need 150ml of almond milk, which you can substitute with any other type of milk or milk alternative. A little avocado will help to add creaminess to the smoothie. A drizzle of honey will add natural sweetness and complement the flavor of the bananas. Finally, 1/3 teaspoon of blue spirulina powder will give your smoothie a beautiful light blue color and provide some added health benefits.
Step 2: Blend your ingredients
Start by adding the frozen banana slices to your blender, followed by the almond milk, avocado, honey, and blue spirulina powder. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little more almond milk to thin it out. Keep yogurt on the side.
While your smoothie is blending, take a dollop of yogurt on the backside of a spoon and apply to the inside wall of you glass – this will create cloud like shapes amongst a blue sky on the inside the glass.
Step 3: Enjoy your cloud smoothie
Pour the smoothie into your yogurt walled glass and serve immediately. You can garnish your smoothie with some extra blue spirulina powder or fresh fruit if you like. Add a wide glass straw for easy sipping. You’ll love the creamy texture and delicious flavor of this smoothie, and the clouds are a conversation piece of their own. I used this recipe as a welcome cocktail for a friends baby shower we hosted in our home – also great for sunday morning brunch!
